Pools - FAQs

Pools FAQs

How long is the pool?

Good question!

Both our pools are 25 yards in length. That means it is roughly 67 laps to the mile.

Can I reserve a swimming lane for lap swimming?

Yes!

The indoor & outdoor pools always have two lanes set aside for lap swimming reservations. If you wish to reserve a lane for lap swimming you can make a reservation online through the Member Portal, on the Del Norte App, or by giving us a call.

916-483-5111

The other lanes of the pool will be for drop-in lap swimming. If all lanes are taken we ask that members share a drop-in swimming lane.

What is Masters Swim?

Our Masters Swim program meets Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 5-6am.  All swimmers 18+ are welcome to join in an hour of guided workouts.  We have all levels of swimmers and work on all four strokes, fitness, and personal goals.  Each workout is created for success and can be modified to meet each swimmers needs.  The class is offered in the Indoor Pool during the winter and early spring months and then continues in the Outdoor Pool. This class is free of charge for Del Norte members.

Please contact Elisa Reuter at egreuter@att.net with any questions.

Will there always be a lifeguard on duty?

No.

Rest Period Policy

During the summer months, while lifeguards are on duty, we will be conducting swim rest periods, as recommended by the American Red Cross, for our members that are under 18 years of age. The rest periods will be the last 10 minutes of every hour between the hours of 1pm and 7pm. All members 17 years old and younger will be asked to leave the pool, regardless of direct supervision. The rest period is for the safety of your children to allow for rest, rehydration, and a restroom break. It also allows a break for the lifeguards to help keep them alert.
