Can my child be at Del Norte without me?

CHILDREN AND JUNIORS

(Children:11 years and younger and Juniors:12-17 years old)

CLUB USAGE OF THE FACILITY

Del Norte is family-friendly. We stress the importance of providing facilities for all our members. There are however, certain rules that apply to our children and junior members.

1. Children and juniors age 15 and younger may not be dropped off at the club unattended. While we strive to provide a safe environment for the children, we will not act as a babysitter.

2. Children and juniors 15 years old and younger must be accompanied by their parent/guardian at all times unless participating in a club sponsored activity (swim team, tennis lessons, etc.). Unattended children and juniors 15 years old and younger will be asked to call their parents and be picked up immediately.

3. Children and juniors under the age of 15 are not allowed in the Fitness Center unless they have completed the Tip Top Teen program and have been issued a yellow workout card. These cards must be carried with the teens at all times in the fitness center. This program is open to members ages 9 -15. Please see any of our Fitness Trainers or Front Desk Staff for information

4. When a lifeguard is on duty, children 12 and over may come to the club to swim without their parent/guardian, however the child must be able to swim safely alone and/or stand in the pool alone when left with the lifeguard. Children who cannot stand or swim safely must be in direct supervision by their parent/guardian at all times. Direct supervision is defined as the supervision adult being no more than 15 feet away from the child(ren), actively enforcing Del Norte rules and that no gates or barriers stand in the way of the supervising adults visible and physical path to the swimming children.

5. Children ages 7 to 11 must have a parent/guardian present at the club to use the outdoor pool when a lifeguard is present. Children who cannot stand or swim safely must have direct supervision by their parent/guardian at all times.

6. Children ages 6 and under must have direct supervision by a parent/guardian at all times.

7. Children and juniors in the Childcare, Kids Loft and Afterschool Program are required to follow the club rules and the instructions of the club staff. Unruly and disruptive children will be written up by the staff and parent/guardian will be made aware of the situation. Three or more writeups may result in suspension or termination of the club’s childcare and junior program privileges.
