Here at Del Norte, our mission is to bring Christ like joy to the community around us and facilitate genuine relationships within our community. Since 1957 Del Norte has been a community staple and our roots are deep. We love our city and the Arden- Arcade area and long to see it thrive and be a community known for loving and serving its people well.
One of the community partners we have had a relationship with for years is the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services. If you have ever driven through our community on a Tuesday morning, you have probably seen the long lines of people inside of our community and beyond that come for free produce from the Sacramento food bank. Our parking lot that is on Becerra is used for only that purpose on Tuesday mornings throughout the year. If you know of a family in need, this is always available.
In partnership with the Food Bank, on Thanksgiving Day a large citywide event called Run to Feed the Hungry is hosted. Del Norte has participated in this event for years and raised funds for the Sacramento Food Bank alongside Arcade Church. If you have ever participated and donated to this event. We are grateful for that! Thank you! If you have never participated in this event – I encourage you to take part this Thanksgiving Day. It is a fun way to get together with the city of Sacramento and our Del Norte Community to make a difference in families right here in our neighborhood.
While we are on mission to bring joy and be in genuine caring and loving relationship with the people in our community, we want to encourage you, as a member, to take part with us. It’s amazing the difference you can make in someone’s day with kindness when they are struggling, grace when they don’t deserve it, and generosity with it is least expected. If you are a part of the Del Norte community, we want to make a difference beyond the boundaries of our facility, and you, as a Del Norte member, are a part of that! Let’s continue to make the world around us better together.
