Objective

This SOP provides step-by-step instructions for using the Pickleball Ball Machine to ensure effective operation and maintenance.

Key Steps

1. Key Retrieval 0:00

  • Go to the front desk to exchange your keys for the ball machine key.

2. Locating the Ball Machine 0:06

  • The ball machine is located at the corner of Court 5.

3. Unlocking the Ball Machine 0:22

  • Use the key obtained from the front desk to unlock the ball machine.

4. Setting Up the Ball Machine 0:34

  • Choose either Court 5 or Court 6 for setup.
  • Locate the power outlet on the back pole of the selected court.

5. Configuring the Ball Machine Settings 0:50

  • Open the panel on the ball machine to adjust settings:
    • Direction: Set the desired shot pattern (e.g., straight, left, right).
    • Height: Adjust the height of the shots.
    • Speed: Control how fast the balls are shot out.
    • Spin: Choose between top spin or back spin.
    • Feed Rate: Set how many balls are shot per minute.
    • Randomization: Toggle to randomize direction if desired.

6. Starting the Ball Machine 1:50

  • Press the start button to activate the motor.
  • Flick the remote down to bypass and start shooting balls.

7. Ending the Session 2:01

  • Once finished, unplug the machine and wrap the cord neatly.
  • Place the machine back in the shed.

8. Returning the Key 2:21

  • Lock the shed after returning the ball machine.
  • Bring the ball machine key back to the front desk to retrieve your original keys.

Cautionary Notes

  • Always ensure the machine is turned off and unplugged before handling.
  • Be cautious when moving the ball machine; it may require two hands.

How to Use the Pickleball Ball Machine

In this video, I guide you through using the Pickleball Ball Machine, starting from picking up the key at the front desk. Once you have the key, you can unlock the machine located at the corner of Court 5 or Court 6. I explain how to set the direction, height, speed, spin, and feed rate of the shots, as well as how to randomize the direction if you prefer. After your session, please remember to unplug the machine, wrap the cord, and return everything to the shed. Make sure all the balls are put back where you found them!
